Multilingual Workshops and  Projects

I am a bilingual poet, spoken word artist and educator. I work with schools, teachers and cultural organisations to explore languages through poetry, rap and performance. My workshops are creative, inclusive and designed for learners of all language levels — no previous experience of poetry or performance is needed.

All workshops can be adapted to suit your learners’ age, language level and curriculum needs.

In-Person School Workshops

I come to your school for a full day. I can work with one group for the entire day or repeat shorter sessions with 4–5 different groups.

Each day usually begins with a live poetry performance by me, ideally in an assembly setting. This introduces students to bilingual and multilingual poetry in an engaging, accessible way and sets the tone for the workshops that follow.

Workshop options include:

Introduction to Bilingual Poetry (French & English) – 1 hour
Students discover how poets move between languages, explore identity through words, and experiment with writing bilingually.

Introduction to Multilingual Poetry – 1 hour
Students use all the languages they know (home languages included) to create poems that celebrate linguistic diversity.

Write and Perform a Rap in French – 1 hour
A high-energy session where students write short rap verses in French, focusing on rhythm, rhyme and pronunciation, and perform their work.
Creative Literary Translation – 2 hours
Students explore translation through picture books, poems or rap lyrics, learning how meaning, tone and creativity travel between languages.
Multilingual Poetry Slam – Whole day
A full-day immersive project developed in collaboration with the Institut Français du Royaume-Uni and delivered annually as part of the South Ken Kids Festival.
I work alongside 1–3 additional professional poets and can engage up to 120 students. The day culminates in a supportive, celebratory poetry slam performance.
